Hi Friends!
Man, there has been so much going on around here. Then again, it is my house, right? There’s ALWAYS stuff going on here.
Corbin
We lost Corbin (one of the cockatiels) on Thursday 2/11/16. He had been sick for about a month. I didn’t mention anything on here because I didn’t want you all to think our house and my blog is full of sadness and negativity.
He had lost a lot of weight and was sleeping almost all the time. Mom had been syringe feeding him with critical care supplements for the last 2 weeks, giving him antibiotics, and all the while, he was still eating and drinking. The vet wasn’t sure what was wrong with him. From tests, he knew there was some yeast in his intestines but the numbers weren’t outrageous or anything. We don’t know how old Corbin was so it could’ve very well been old age. We got Corbin and Cheney in October 2014 from someone who got them from an empty, abandoned house.
So last night and today Mom spent a bit of time with Cheney to make sure he was okay. She let him play on the swing that hangs from the ceiling and gave him lots of hugs and kisses.
We’re sad but we’re all doing okay. Honestly.
Molly
Tomorrow, Mom and Molly are heading to Petsmart to meet up with Mom’s friends from FurEver Friendz dog rescue. Every Saturday the rescue sets up out front of the store to try to get the rescues adopted. They are letting Mom bring Molly up to try to get her adopted. None of us know how we feel about this. I mean, okay…we know. We’re sad and we’re also relieved. Molly has been extra snarly the last few days. No attacking but still. It scares Mom and Dad to think that it could lead to an attack. So, hopefully Mom will find Molly a safe home where she’s the only animal and can get all of the attention.
Macy
Dumb-dumb is doing just fine. Irritating as ever.
Me
I’m feeling better than I was when I wrote my angry post. It was just a bad day!
BUT I did get tricked into a bath tonight and so did Molly. That was NOT cool!
That’s about all I have right now. I’m off to go snuggle some more!
Happy weekend!
Hi Noodle Buddy,
I’m so sorry about Corbin. I hope you know it would have been ok to say something about him being sick. We all would have understood, friends are friends and stick around no matter if things are good or bad.
I’ll be praying that Mom and her friends find the perfect family for Molly. Giving Mom and Dad a hug as I know it was a hard decision to make.
I’m glad Macy is doing fine and that you were just having a bad day.
Cuddles and hugs.

Hi, Mrs. Margret. There’s just been so much sadness and people have a hard time staying happy as it is. My blog is supposed to make people smile, not cry. Mom thanks you for your hug…she needs it for tomorrow. *ear licks* Noodle

Thanks for the update, N. So sad about Corbin. I’m excited for Molly, and hoping she finds a single pet home so her growliness will become smiliness. And if they’re not words they should be! Prayers and good luck wishes for your family.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

WOW…..never a dull moment there for sure. Very sad about Corbin – I’m sure he was a very happy bird living there with you all. As for Molly, you all tried and tried and she probably did too, but sometimes what you want is just not the best option – Molly will be much happier being the “Queen” of a home instead of having to “find her place” in the hierarchy and being aggressive while doing it. She doesn’t mean to be mean (!) – she is just being herself. We have paws crossed for her adoption where she can be an “only” ! Get as many snuggles in as you can – after all – being forced to have a bath should be rewarded with snuggles!
Hugs, Sammy

Very true, Sammy. Life here is always full of something. Thank you for your kind words about Corbin. He will be missed. Having all of you remind us that we tried with Molly and that this is for her own good really helps.
I did get lots of snuggles once I smelled better and was fluffy again 🙂

Aw, I’m so sorry to hear about Corbin. My son had a cockatiel for over 20 years. She was a stinker at times but always seemed to like him and me (but hated my daughter). When she passed away we were all sad and the kids had a funeral in the back yard.
Fingers and paws crossed that Molly finds a great fur-ever home. Hugs and ear scratches to the whole lot and best Happy Valentine’s Day wishes to all of you! ღ

I’m sorry for your loss of Corbin and soon to be rehoming of Molly. It is probably for the best. Maggie has to be an only dog and this is after much, much, money and time was spent on training. Mom had asked the trainer if Maggie would ever get along with other animals – being a rescue we can only imagine how bad her past was by some of her behaviors – and he frankly told Mom, “I can train her but I can’t change her nature.” And so, an only Princess she will stay. You are doing the best you can for the established pack you have. You are right, she needs to be an “only”. Good luck and we are here if you need us – Maggie and Liz

Thank you for backing our decision. It eases the pain a bit by reminding us that we didn’t do anything wrong and we’re just doing the best we can. *ear licks*

We’re so sorry to hear about your birdie. Our Jessy has a cockatiel named Grover who is actually a girl and lays eggs all the time. We hope you find a good home for Molly. We fostered a little cocker named Honey a long time ago. He was very old and covered with cocker spaniel lumps and bumps. He used to belong to an elderly lady who passed away. He was very smart and cute, but couldn’t deal with kids. At that time our kids were all school age and brought their friends over. Honey would snarl and nip at them. We finally found him a home where he was an only doggie with no kids and they were very happy to have him. It’s tough fostering and dealing with problem behaviors; and it breaks your heart too. Good luck!

Thank you Chester! We have a duck named Franklin who’s a girl BOL! Funny how those things happen. I think the Molly situation would’ve been easier had we gone into it as a foster but we didn’t. We adopted her hoping to give her her forever home. Hopefully we will be as lucky as your family was to find a perfect fit for her. It truly is heartbreaking. *ear licks*

Hi Noodle, honey. I am so sorry that Corbin died. I bet you all were right and it was just his time. Maybe Kismet could fly over and comfort Cheney.
I hope by the time you and your mom read this that Molly will have found her furever home and that it feels right for everyone.
Tomorrow, I hope to make you forget all your troubles and smile big, sweet Valentine. 🙂 ❤

I am new to your blog, but extend my sympathy about Corbin just the same. It is so hard to lose any pet….Nobody would think you were depressing if you shared, we all understand. Hoping Molly finds the right home, my Angel Bobo was the type of cat who HAD to be the “only” pet, so I totally “get it” DakotasDen

Thank you for your kind words. Since you are new you weren’t around last March when Mya passed away and in April when Khia passed. Then for the last 3 months we’ve had “Molly drama”. So my blog has taken on a very different tone lately. Thanks for your kind words. They help a lot! *ear licks* Noodle

We are sorry about Corbin. It is hard to lose a family member no matter how long or short a time you’ve had them. Your Pawrents are great to have given all of you such a home to feel safe and loved. We also pray that Molly finds a fit for her temperament. We know you all tried and having loved her for the past several months it will be hard to see her go. But the good news is that she now knows what love is! Happy Valentines Day!
