Hi, friends! Happy Sunday!

Mom called the vet yesterday about my episode but they were triple-booked. The receptionist spoke with Dr. H and he said as long as the episodes aren’t happening more than once a month, he would like to avoid medication.

Remember, they aren’t seizures. It’s actual cramping of my body.

Mom has taken a very proactive approach by replacing the big dogs’ food with a grain-free food. Now if I eat it, I won’t get super itchy and it won’t trigger another episode.

One thing that did happen yesterday is that Mom remembered something that happened the day after Khia died. She thought I had a seizure from possible heat stroke because I was running around like a maniac chasing the neighbor’s lawn mower through the fence. Looking back, she realized it was this very same thing.

So I have had one on 4/18/15, 10/2016, and 2/10/17.

No worries, friends. I’m just fine! No lasting side effects. It’s like when your parents wake up in the middle of the night screaming because their leg is cramped. It just happens to my whole body. Nothing life-threatening 🙂

  1. That is good news, N. Big difference between cramping and seizing. I’m glad you’re on the good side.

That still had to be scary though. We’re glad it’s not actual seizures. I do a lot better on the grain free food – I do the Blue Buffalo Basic one. Mom likes it as it has several different flavors in the dry so I don’t have to eat the same meal month after month.

    • I’m super excited because my new food is salmon and I LOVE salmon. Mom said it makes my breath smell terrible but it’s just so delicious! I eat Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diet. I was on the Duck and Pea formula, now the Salmon and Sweet Potato. They have a couple other flavors too. *ear licks*

  3. Glad to hear it isn’t life threatening, Noodle. One a year doesn’t seem all that bad, though I’m sure for you it’s no picnic in the park. We’re keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. And good luck with the new diet. ❤︎

Is there a supplement or nutricutical that will help? When my husband had the leg cramps, the extra magnesium did the trick. If you drink primarily filtered water, you may need some of the trace minerals added back in. Good luck sleuthing out what will help you feel better, Noodle!

Hello my dear Noodle boy. That body cramping is so strange, I had to read up on it too. Lots of love, Mom #2.

Maybe low on potassium? That plus dehydration can cause cramping like this. Saw something similar on Dr. Pol last night!

If you are dehydrated, you can have seizure like symptoms. I also saw this on TV last night.

  12. I wish it would run away from you… that is probably very scary for a little pup to deal with that cramps…even when they happen rarely…I often wish we had a tool to find out the reason for such things… it would be much easier to treat something if we would know the trigger or the bugger…
