Quick update as my hands are full (literally).
Greg just picked us both up off the bathroom floor where I’d been sitting for the last hour with Jamison in my lap. My legs were long asleep and I couldn’t get up. Not to mention my back has been out between my shoulder blades since this morning. Thank you, hubby, for saving us from the cold, hard tile.
Why were we on floor, you ask? Jamison had been trembling fiercely in his carrier so I pulled out the magic blanket, put him onto my lap, wrapped him up, and after a few minutes, he actually fell asleep. No more trembling.
His temperature is up to 102°F. Not quite fever but nowhere near his new normal of 100°F.
The day started out much better than where we’re at now. He came barrelling out of his crate this morning and went right for his dry kibble. Unfortunately, he was unable to eat it. It seems as though something may be going on with his jaw that prevents him from eating. Perhaps he just knows he’s too weak to eat hard kibble.
We went to the ER vet yesterday afternoon to check for constipation but there was no distension of his stomach so no when’s laxative was needed.
I have been taking videos but don’t have the patience to embed them right now. Just had to make sure I gave you all an update because I didn’t yesterday evening.
It was so much colder this morning. Hopefully that is the reason for the trembles.

I wish that were to blame but we have the heat on.

Thank you, Greg. I understand not wanting to move when your baby actually was comforted and relaxed enough to sleep. You are a good Mom, Samantha. Do you think Jamison could eat canned food? Or tuna?

He’s been eating canned food via syringe since 12/29. He doesn’t go after that on his own at all. I was telling Greg that I was going to put tuna juice on the food to try to tempt him. He’s been on I/D prescription diet since he was 5 and had a bout with pancreatitis. I have to be careful what he eats. It has to be fat free or it could cause another flare up.

I was soaking the kibble when he started shaking. He’s been eating the canned version of his food via syringe since 12/29. Don’t you dare stay up all night. You need your rest so you don’t get sick, Mr. Henry Penry! Love you!

I was very worried when you didn’t update last night. I am glad you have some improvements, I am sure it is going to be a roller coaster for quite a while until he recovers from the next surgery. I am praying often for your sweet boy. XO

I knew if I skipped another update people would think the worst. That’s exactly what it is – a rollercoaster. Thank you ❤

Thanks for letting us know. We went through the ups and downs last year with our Elsa. You n Greg are doing great! It’s not easy but the payoff of a purr or lap snuggle is so worth it!

Thank you for the update. Good thing you don’t live alone. Plus, it’s good to have someone close for emotional support.

So glad to have an update even if it’s a bit of a worried update. I love that the magic blanket works to calm/relax/reassure Jamison along with being in your arms of course but not being able to eat his kibble – did the vet have any ideas on that one? Good that Jamison isn’t constipated – with all the internal damage it would be easy to understand. Poor boy and poor you! We continue to pray every day and hope that his WILL to recover will override the terrible wounds and discomfort……..Sending Hugs too!
Love, Pam and Angel Sam
