Every year, on January 10th, we celebrate Noodle Day aka my Gotcha Day. Today is my 4th Gotcha Day!!!
I’ve grown up so much since then (and lost a LOT of hair!):
If you don’t know how my Gotcha Day happened, check it out here: https://noodle4president.wordpress.com/about/
—————
I’m sure a lot of you are wondering what’s going on with Molly.
Mom and Dad have been very careful when all of us are in a room together. We are never alone with her.
When Mom and Dad leave, Molly and Macy are crated. It’s always been that way because Macy is…well, Macy…and Molly has separation anxiety.
Molly hasn’t been allowed to sleep in bed with us. The first night she was in her crate and last night she slept on the couch.
When she gets grumbly, instead of Mom giving a firm “NO!” and crating her, Mom has been trying to calm her down. It seems to be making a difference.
Something is definitely wrong with Molly. She isn’t eating all of her food and when she does, it takes about 30 minutes.
She’s more lethargic than usual and just seems un-phased by a lot of stuff.
Yesterday afternoon, Mom was sitting in the recliner and called Molly up onto her lap for cuddles. Molly got her front feet up okay but then got stuck. Mom went to help her up, grabbing her stomach area, and Molly growled (something is definitely wrong). She laid in Mom’s lap for an hour. Hopefully the blood work will reveal all the answers.
In the meantime, Mom’s just trying to keep us all really calm. She has smelly-goods burning in the house, the TV is off, and she’s had minimal lights on.
We’re all just taking it easy…one second at a time.
I’ve been acting a bit funny. Shaking at random times and not laying in my normal spots. I do a lot of peeking around corners. It’s making Mom really sad. I heard her tell Dad that she thinks I’m broken and she hopes it’s not permanent. I’m not sure yet.
We’re all out of sorts.
Macy is getting a bit stir-crazy because calm and Macy are like oil and water. She doesn’t understand.
Mom told me to show you guys this picture to lighten the mood:
This was from Friday. Macy hopped up on Mom’s lawn chair to soak up some rays for a few.
I laid with Mom for a few as well before retiring to my trusty old mat that’s full of dirt and sand.
Anywho, I’m gonna go lay down for a little. I’ll catch up with you all later.
Happy Gotcha Day dear Noodle! I’m so glad you found the bestest home a little pup can ask for. That was my fear too that something is wrong with Molly, maybe she has pains and that’s what makes her grumpy? I hope the bloodwork comes back without bad news…. you had enough sad things to solve last year it would be darned unfair if 2016 brings sorrows and tears again to your crib.

Thanks, Easy! Yeah, I love it here. About Molly, Mom calls it a catch 42…Ummm…no. Wait. That’s not right. 32? No….OH! 22! She doesn’t want anything to be wrong with Molly but she also doesn’t want it to mean that Molly needs to be an only dog. Keeping my paws crossed that whatever it is, we’re strong enough to deal with it!

Hi Noodle Shmoodle Buddy. My Mom had an interesting thought. She said that if there was something wrong with you. Molly may well sense it and not know how to react. Knowing how incredibly amazing our senses are ….. she may be onto something! Just another possibility. Woof! Ray.

Hmmmm….interesting. Do I feel okay? Now that you mention it, I’m not sure. Mom just told me she’s going to be extra observant of me, especially if Molly’s results come back negative. Thanks for always looking out for me Ray!

Sounds like you and Macy need to get out and expend some energy have fun to make you feel better. As for Molly if their is a physical problem with her it could explain some of her behaviour….we all get grumpy when we don’t feel well, paws crossed that something shows in her blood work, keeping you all in our thoughts,xx Speedy and Mum Rachel

I’m pretty lazy myself. I think I’m emotionally drained. At least, that’s what Mom suggested. But Macy…yeah she needs to go somewhere and do SOMETHING! *ear licks*

Happy GotchaDay, N. I’m glad your parents are watching all of you carefully. I wonder what the blood work will say. I’m not sure what the happy ending will be to all of this. Taking it one second at a time is all you can do for now. Hang in there, buddy.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

Oh Noodle…….I feel bad about Molly but I really was so frightened to hear about what happened to you. Hoping that Molly is OK too – sounds like she’s got something medically going on. I’m thinking you’re just still a bit nervous around her – you had a comfort zone with her which was violated and it’s HARD to come back from that kind of frightening experience. It sounds like your Mom and Dad are working hard to keep things “normal” but the atmosphere probably HAS changed. It’s hard to get trust back once you’ve lost it. Be brave little guy………we’re pulling for ALL of you!!
Love, Sammy

That’s very true. I’ve shown her my belly before. I did trust her very much. I’m not used to big dogs being mean. Khia was so nice and Macy is too dumb to be mean. I hope you’re right and I’ll feel better soon. Thanks for the love. *ear licks*

Happy Gotcha day Noodle, from the Pups and Kitties! Our Margret said it sure sounds like Molly has something physically wrong with her that’s making her be so growly and grumbly. We’ll sure be glad when your folks get her test results back so you all have an idea of what is going on. Noodle, Margret asked us to make sure to tell your mom that she is doing a great job with all of you and to not doubt and be so hard on herself. There are very few people with as much love in their hearts as your Mom and Dad. She said that she’s still praying for all of you and bets that you’ll be back to your old self soon.
“Licks and pup grins” to you all and hugs and gentle cuddles from our Margret

Happy Gotcha day, Noodle. It really looks as if something’s not ok with Molly’s health, and that would explain a lot. Let’s see what the vet results bring.
