Hello, beautiful friends of mine!
It’s a hot Monday here in Florida. Mom says it’s fall but I don’t believe her because it’s really hot and our flowers are blooming like crazy.

Exhibit F
Clearly, Florida missed the memo that the season changed.
In other news, it appears we are now home to an extra-….extrim-…excuse me one second, please…..
*whispers* Mom, what did you say the house looks like?
Oh, yes. It’s an “extremity graveyard” Have a look:
Stuffy body parts EVERYWHERE….as far as the eye can see. Honestly…those pics were all from one small part of the house but they are EVERYWHERE!
Macy and Molly play tug-of-war with everything and every 15 minutes or so you hear riiiiiiip. Another limb gone for good. Some times Macy eats them. She is just the weirdest.
Anywho, I can’t remember if I mentioned how much Molly likes to hunt/stalk things. Mom and Dad believe she was used as a hunting dog by her last owner.
On the other side of our fence, a sweet, innocent gopher tortoise has a burrow. Molly doesn’t understand that Mr. Tortoise is a friend. She’s always staring at his burrow and will sometimes try to dig out OR bite the fence. Dad thinks she may have broken her teeth doing this in the past.
Mom gets very aggravated because once Molly is hunting, the only way to get her to stop is by getting a leash on her. At night, Molly has to go out on a leash or it’s a guarantee that she’ll be off hunting something. And let me tell you….she can CLIMB! She climbed up on a bag of soil just to jump on a stack of 7 bags of mulch to track something the other day. Mom called her a goat.
No worries, though. Mom can’t stay mad for long. Especially when Molly looks at her like this:
Oh! Oh! Oh!
I almost forgot to tell you! Although Mom hasn’t gone down to animal services to formally adopt Molly just yet, Molly finally got her own collar and ID tag this weekend! Look at how happy she was when Mom put it on her:
It’s like she knew what it meant 🙂
And since you all love Macy so much, I figured I’d post this picture of her sunbathing yesterday:
Also, I had a momentary lapse of sensibility and I laid next to her yesterday morning:
Mom honestly freaked out. She thought I was dying. Looking back, I’m kind of concerned that I may have the early stages of dementia. I mean, why else would I have laid next to her???
Anywho, it’s getting close to dinner time. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Woah!! We loved viewing the flowers….these are semi-tropical…..at least to us. Body parts are gross Noodle. I have my own set here. I’m waiting for mom to build me a frankenkitty. haah Molly with her new collar and tags is so happy.

They aren’t native. Dad grew them from seeds he ordered. A Frankenkitty?! Omd! Mom just had a lightbulb go off over her head. *ear licks*

Consorting with the enemy. It is brutal in Florida. The fall hasn’t arrived and it is hopeless to expect winter any time soon. Our grass and flowers are growing too. What are exhibits B,C, and D? We have a whole bunch of D growing in the beds. Years ago I was total that it was nutmeg. Obviously that is wrong. The pods just grow into more flowering trees. You don’t have to plant them.

B: Cassia or candle stick plant
C: bulbine
D: Buddha belly aka Gout plant. The pics on this one are seed pods that explode and grow new plants wherever they land.

Hi Noodle, It was a cold and rainy day here in Northern Illinois (with snow predicted for this Saturday)and those beautiful colorful flowers brightened up my day. Molly looks so proud wearing her new collar and id tag. It was fun seeing and reading about Macy and Molly playing tug of war, Molly doing her goat imitation and you and Macy laying next to each other. You all make me smile.

Cold and rainy is the worst! I’ve never seen snow. Mom prays for it every winter but it just never happens. I’m glad you enjoyed reading the good news and funny stuff. I like making people smile. *ear licks*

We have some Hibiscus. We used to have Azaleas. They’re one of Mom’s favorites. If it weren’t for Dad, our yard would be brown and lifeless. Mom is too lazy to take care of the plants. Your Mom should go to Wal-Mart. That’s where my Mom got Molly her fuchsia collar. It was $5! Don’t you just wish all of us Blogville friends could live in the same neighborhood???
I have NOT warmed up to Macy. I was delusional, remember?

Hi Noodle Streudal Buddy! So glad that the extended family appears to be working things out with each other although, and as you well know, it’s the humans that are the most difficult to work with. They make simple things so complicated! Woof! Ray.

You’re absolutely right, Ray. I think Mom told your Dad that she bought that one book, “The Other End of the Leash”. Well, she realized it’s all her fault why none of us listen. BOL! She and Dad are not consistent enough. Us dogs NEED consistency. *ear licks*

Yey Noodle! My life around here became much easier after that book arrived, and a few others! Considering they see themselves as the higher intellect (BOL), they have so much to learn don’t they! Woof! Ray.

Wowzers! So many pretty flowers – everything in MY yard is BROWN! We actually get a Fall here in Virginia whereas you have to look really hard to find yours in Florida! I’m happy for Molly that she has her FOREVER HOME (and collar!)……….and for you to lose your mind and lie down next to Macy – well – GOOD LUCK NOODLE!
Hugs, Sammy

Yayy!! I think you are right – I think she knows she’s found her home (which makes me so happy, too). I mean, just look at that blur of a tail!
Noodle, you may not like to hear this, but I think you and Macy might be distantly related – your coloring and spotting are just too similar!

You’re right, Miss Sammie’s Mom, I did not like hearing that. I am only going to give you a single *ear lick* instead of 87.
