Good evening, my lovely friends!
I have had a super busy week. I took on my first job as a hair colorist! See, Mom needed her hair re-colored and she asked Dad to do it to save money. Well, I told her I could do a better job.
So, Dad took over….but not before putting a pink spot on my foot! Pink you ask? See below.
Dad was coloring Mom’s hair pink again!
That was all Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday, the little baby birds decided it was time to fly. And you know what? They flew away and never came back! Mom thought they would start learning to fly little by little. Nope! Gone…right away!
One of them stuck around until Thursday though. Mom thinks he was scared.
He was so small that it was hard to get the camera to zoom in AND focus. Mom is sad that they’re gone. She took a couple videos for you guys!
The first one is the fledgling Carolina Wren:
Isn’t he adorable?!?!?! They grow up so fast :’)
*snicker*
Anywho! The second video is of a Pileated Woodpecker:
Unfortunately he was a bit far away and the cell phone camera only zooms in 4x. There was a second woodpecker below him. Seeing a Pileated Woodpecker is always a treat because they aren’t very common.
Well, I gotta run. I hope you enjoyed the pictures and videos. Happy weekend everyone!
A Pileated Woodpecker?! You’re so lucky Noodle!! My moms would be very jealous if they knew. We had one once, but Little Mom was at work and missed it.
And your mom’s hair looks great! Tell your Dad he has a new calling 😛

Once a year, or so, they frequent our house. I bet little mom was super sad. My mom said thank you very much and I will relay your message to my dad 🙂

Hi Noodle Shmoodle buddy. We have a teenager girl living next door to us whose hair is always changing color. It has been every color of the rainbow at different times and is now silver/grey! My Dad says its her age. If he is right, what’s your Mom’s excuse? Woof! Ray.

Mom never did anything like this as a teen! In the past, when mom has gone through a very stressful time, she cuts 87 inches of hair off. However, she realizes she doesn’t look all that great with short hair. So with the stress of Khia and Mya passing, mom decided to just go crazy with color. 🙂

did you bark at the birds? I would have gone nuts, momwithoutpaws does her hair color all the time, nothing as exotic as yours, but she is too old for exotic. Do not tell her I said that

I didn’t! I was a really good boy. My mom said to tell your mom that if she wants pink hair (out any other color) to just do it!

I agree it’s a little sad when they fly away after they were “our” birdies :o) but it’s great that they all made it and I wish them a happy birds life :o) My dad helped my mom once too to color her fur… it ended not pink… but in a disaster. YAY for your dad who has a hand even for hairy things!

You’re right, Easy. They all made it and that’s definitely something to be happy about. Did your mom’s hair come out 87 shades of messed up?!

my dad “rubbed” the color in her furline like crazy… at the end she looked like a bursted beehive and needed a furminator to detangle her hair… and he also ruined the bathmat… that furcolor stays furever in efurry fabric :o)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pink! ❤ Your dad is such a sweetie helping out your mom. I just stop eating when I have to pay my hairdresser for colored streaks. [wink] We had some sparrows nest in our covered patio here two years in a row and it's so sad and empty feeling when they leave. But like all kids, we have to let them go to make full lives for themselves. Thanks for sharing the videos. Very sweet and cool. Here's to a swell weekend. 🙂

Hi Noodle honey. My Mom’s been so busy that she didn’t show me your blog until just now. And now it is too late for me to say, “Don’t let those birds get away… the young ones are the best!” *Sigh*

I never got anywhere near them. My mom didn’t let me spend any time on the porch while the scared one was still there. *sigh*

Dad colouring your mom’s hair was so nice…..dad here does the same thing for mom and she is so happy with the results.
Your boirds are gone! Already! You’re right…they grow up so fast. So would you be a renter to more wrens, Noodle? Was it too heartbreaking to watch them leave?

Our dads rock! I suppose I would let them stay again. It was pretty neat to watch. Kept Jamison busy and away from me!
