You guys – my birthday was SO awesome!
The whole day was all about….ME! The best kind of day, right?
So the daytime was kind of slow-going because Mom was at work but when she got home, there was lots of action.
For starters, it was storming something fierce. Molly got a new thundershirt on Sunday and it seems to be helping way more than we expected. As a matter of fact, she was doing pretty great. That is until the big, gi-hugic, unexpected Ka-ba-boooooooooooooooooooom that shook our house and even scared Mom and me. Lightning hit somewhere in our yard and the thunder almost made the house implode. Okay, so maybe not that serious but pretty close!
At this point I was trembling the way I do during fireworks. Mom figured this was the perfect time to distract me with my party. So, you would think that with as many furry residents as we have in our house, that my party would consist of all of us eating treats and whatnot. Nope! This was great – Mom and Dad gave everyone treats in their own quarters of the house and then I had a party with just Mom and Dad. All of the attention was on ME!
Just look at this deliciousness that I got:
The homemade treats Mrs. Lexi’s Mom made me, chewy jumping sticks by Natural Balance, and turkey! Mmmmm!
I could hardly contain my excitement!

“Neener neener, sisters! I’m partying with Mom and Dad!”

“Mom, my hat is falling into my eyes!”
After my party, Mom and I played tug-of-war. It was so much fun! I have been playing with toys A LOT lately. Mom and Dad think is super cute so I do it extra since it makes them giggle.
Finally, Mom and I got into bed and then she saw something on her phone that made her jump out of bed and run outside. When she came back in, she had a present for me!
Apparently, UPS left this in our yard earlier in the day. Thank the doggy-gods that they weren’t ruined from the rain! Now Macy and I can get on the bed easier!
I’m a little scared of the steps. Mom keeps trying to tell me that they’re the same as the ones I used to use when Khia was still here but I’m not sure about all that. We’ll see…
I’m pretty exhausted from all of the celebrating we did last night so I think I’m gonna go take a little snooze. Thank you for all of the wonderful birthday wishes. You all made me feel so loved!
what a pawfect gift… glad you rescued the stairs before it became water-stairs ;o) maybe the heaven celebrated with you and send a firework to your garden… a little bit overdone, I think ;o) love the video , bro you can eat that tasty snacks even faster than me, bravo!

Those stairs would’ve been better off getting wet! I don’t like them. They’re not like my old stairs. My old stairs were much better. These are scary. Someone said the fireworks and thunder were just from our friends at the bridge celebrating my birthday. I’m going to try to not be scared next time. *ear licks*

I see/smell food and can’t control myself. I go on full-hoover mode. BOL! The steps are NOT cool. They’re scary. I miss my old steps that we had when Khia was alive. They were big, wide, and super sturdy. Dad built them. These are cheap store-bought steps that come from a factory. Umm, I’m still grateful. Sorry, Mom! *ear licks*

What a great party! Our small dogs were wary of the stairs at first, too. Now, they love them!

Mom said I’m being silly because we used to have different stairs and I used those but that was a long time ago. These are weird stairs. They’re much narrower. *ear licks*

The stairs we had before that our dogs wouldn’t use we’re good for people with little feet, but did not give enough depth to make our dogs happy. My husband re-built them to be wider and broader and the dogs love it. I hope you start liking your stairs, Noodle. As a short person myself, I know how hard it is to not be able to get what you want because you are height-challenged.

Noodle, I have rarely seen a dog eat treats so fast or with so much zeal. And off of real china, too! I love the picture of you right afterwards licking your lip.
I bet if your Mom put treats going up the stairs you wouldn’t even notice you were on them. 🙂 Is that a new shirt, too? You look very good in it. Your Mom was very smart making your special day all about you and not including the others. Lexi would have called them the imposters. I’m not quite sure what she meant by that when she called Piper and Milo (the schnauzers who lived with us for a year while their Mom went to school), but she did say it with disdain. Lots of love, Mom #2
