Evening Update

We picked Jamison up from the vet at 4:45 this afternoon. Dr. Hamilton decided to leave in the drains and will remove them on Thursday when he removes the stitches.

They were unable to do an x-ray of his lungs due to technical issues but aren’t as concerned about his lungs as they are about the dark spot that could be necrotic tissue. We have to insert neosporin in between his skin and the drains via syringe to try to heal him from the inside. We also need to coat his underneath in vaseline to prevent urine scalding.

He seems to be showing signs of improvement: more responsive to touch, reacting when I wipe him down, tail flicking, and shaking his head when something tickles his ear.

The big change: he was able to regulate his body temp today (99°F) without a heat source while at the vet.

I’m feeding him hourly. The goal is 10 ml per hour. Right now we’re at 6 ml before he refuses to swallow anymore.

He’s on so many medicines and trying to keep track of them and his food intake was so insane that I finally had to make charts:
