Jamison Update

Mom is going to take over my blog for an update on Jamison.

Thank you all for your prayers and messages of support regarding Jamison.

For those of you that do not know, he was attacked by Rudee on Monday, Dec. 26th, and has been in critical condition since. He has 3 pelvic fractures and his left leg is paralyzed (unknown if it is permanent or due to the fractures). He had surgery on Monday night to insert 4 drains and to place 14 sutures.

Jamison has not made much improvement. He’s battling hypothermia on and off . He’s anemic – platelets should be 30, were 26 yesterday and are 20 now. Possibly due to high fluid intake diluting blood, possibly a bleed that hasn’t been pinpointed. He’s not eating on his own at all and still isn’t walking but he’s very doped up on pain meds so it’s to be expected. His prognosis remains guarded.

Every afternoon at 4:45 we have to pick him up from the vet and transport him to the overnight emergency vet. Then in the morning we pick him up at 7:30 to bring him back to the day vet.

He’s a strong boy and I know he’s giving it his all. I’m hoping he will start to turn around soon because I don’t want him suffering. He doesn’t deserve that.
