Tonight’s the 8th and final night of Hanukkah. Sorry I didn’t post nightly this year but I’ve been busy trying to stay alive. Hope everyone’s Hanukkah was wonderful!

I learn more about the Jewish faith through friends like you. I love to learn more about different faiths and cultures. Wish mom could cook some of the food but she would ruin it and if no bakery close to us makes the knishes etc., mom is out of luck.

Mom has never taken on knishes. She has made matzo brie, potato pancakes/latkes, matzo ball soup, and brisket. Nothing too fancy. *ear licks*

potato pancakes mom has made and she says they’re good. We never heard of matzo brie,,,,sounds different. Of course we’ve had brisket…..mom’s favourite beef. Yummy!

Matzo brie is delicious. It’s also called fried matzo. You take matzo, soak it in water until it gets a bit soft, then you break it up and mix it with 1 egg for each board of matzo you used. Finally you could it like scrambled eggs. Mmmm Mmmm!

Really! That simple! Maybe we will try it sometime. Can it be normal brie to start with…like that’s what mom buys?

Well, since there’s actually no cheese in it, I don’t think so. I don’t know why it’s called matzo brie. I think the real, Israeli spelling is matzo brei.

Oh…this makes sense. When mom has calmed down from another tumultuous Christmas buying spree, we’ll talk about it.

We lit the menorah tonight. We know that it ended last night, but our house would be the only one that was dark. HAPPY HANUKKAH TO ALL. The door is always open to you if you need to get away from the heathens.
