MOLLY’S HEART WORM NEGATIVE! They re-tested her just to be sure and it was negative. So either the shelter mixed up tests or it was a false positive.
More good news: they think the mass on her gum was just an epulis, NOT CANCER! They removed it and hopefully it won’t come back!
Unfortunately, they weren’t able to do Molly’s extractions because the teeth that need to be removed – 3 canines and at least 1 molar – require special drills/machinery to get out. Otherwise you risk breaking the jaw.
So, she’s got an appointment for Friday, November 20th at 9:30 at the doggy dentist. Depending on the cost of treatment, she might be able to get her procedure done the same day.
For now, she’s resting. Anesthesia and a pain injection has her out.

I just got the update email and was so happy I clapped right here in the office! This is great news – I hope that the dentist trip goes quickly and easily and it can all be done right then!

This is fantastic! Everyone must be ecstatic (except Molly who is asleep). Mom and I are thrilled with the great news. Once those bad teeth are gone she will be a different Molly- look out Macy!

It’s so very exciting but also surreal. Mom keeps waiting to wake up and it just be a dream. I licked her ears to show her she was already awake. I actually think Macy will be safer once Molly’s bad teeth are gone. She can get a bit snippy because of the pain. *ear licks* my sweet snuggle muffin

Heartworm treatment is terrible. We are happy that she doesn’t need it. Trying to keep her quiet would have been a full time job.

That’s what Mom was scared of. Molly gets SO excited every time she sees Mom. There would have been no way to stop it. Mom was afraid we’d have to give her up to somewhere quieter. Thank goodness that’s not a problem anymore! *ear licks* Noodle
