Hi, everyone! It’s me, Noodle!

I finally got Mom to not be grumpy long enough to type my post. Uh oh – if you could only see the look she just gave me. I better make this quick!

Soooooo, on the 3rd, Macy decided to eat one of the most disgusting things ever:

wpid-photogrid_1441503162693.jpg

A mostly full tube of triple antibiotic ointment. She licked it absolutely clean. Would you believe she didn’t throw up or even have the runs?!

She had an appointment scheduled with the vet for the next day, so Mom didn’t freak too much since Macy wasn’t showing any signs of being sick.

When the vet came, she said not to worry and Macy got her 2nd leptospirosis shot:

And I had my pre-dental exam:

wpid-img_20150904_103554.jpg

Turns out, I don’t need a dental after all! The vet was able to “hand scale” my teeth. Aside from not having to get anesthesia, it only cost Mom $5! We were both very happy. The vet also gave Mom an antimicrobial mouth rinse called Clenz-a-dent to use after she brushes my teeth with my regular toothpaste. It’s a syrupy liquid thingy-thing that she brushes my teeth with and then squeezes into my mouth after. It’s supposed to dissolve tartar. The vet said doing all three things (brushing with toothpaste, brushing with the rinse, and squirting the rinse) should keep my pearly whites extra bright for a long time. She told Mom at the very least, to squirt the squirty stuff in my mouth twice a week.

After the vet left, Macy was being a baby.

That innocence lasted for all of two seconds!

Fast forward to Saturday the 12th. Mom is grumpy from pain due to the accident. Uh oh, there’s that look from her again. Macy was being rambunctious as usual when all of a sudden, Mom could hear her but couldn’t see her. Mom went looking and nothing! Then she realized where Macy was….

wpid-img_20150912_103726.jpg

Can you guess where she was????

INSIDE THE BOX SPRING! She followed Jamison in there!!!!

Mom got her to come out after a few minutes only for Macy to run inside a little while later when she got in trouble with Mom.  If Macy grows another 1/2 a pound, she’ll get stuck in there! Dad’s supposed to fix it so she can’t get back in there again.

On Sunday, Mom asked Dad to give me a bath because I was “crunchy and stinky”. It’s not funny, I was LITERALLY crunchy from Macy grabbing me and leaving slobber trails in my fur. Disgusting beast that dog is.

At first Dad said, “No way. He’s fine!” Then Mom asked in that fake nice voice that made Dad realize she was serious-serious. Well, since Dad has only given me one bath, Mom supervised because a) she did not think he would do it right, and b) she has no pictures of me getting a bath since she’s the picture taker.

“No, Dad, that’s too cold!”

“Hurry up! I’m freezing my spots off!”

“OMD! You’re doing this all wrong!”

“What about back scratchies??? Mom, how can you just sit there?!”

“Well, at least I’m not crunchy anymore!”

You should’ve heard Mom: “What about his tummy?”

Dad: *washes tummy reaches for shower head to rinse*

Mom: “What about his front legs?”

Dad: “I got his front legs.”

Mom: “No you didn’t! I’ve been watching to make sure!”

Dad: *washes my front legs*

Mom: “Don’t forget his tushy.”

Dad: “NO WAY!”

Mom: “You HAVE to!”

Thank DOG Macy was locked up this time and not watching all of this. It did make Mom smile a bit, though. That was worth it I suppose. She was SUPER thankful Dad gave me a bath.

Finally, I have an update on Franklin:

She’s trying to walk but her right leg isn’t doing what it’s supposed to. Mom is going to try to get her into the vet on Friday. Thank you all for your prayers because they seem to have worked!

Gotta run! Talk to you soon…

  1. Great update, N. Franklin has come a long way. I think your mom is a good bath supervisor. It’s important for your dad to get all the crunchiness off you. I hope Macy keeps her slobber to herself from now on! Ugh.

    • Isn’t it so awesome about Franklin? Yeah, thank goodness Mom was in there. She told Dad, “I came in here because I knew if I didn’t, you’d only wash his back!” Dads…BOL! Yes, if Macy would just keep that snail trail slobber to herself, that would be great. *ear licks* Noodle

Noodle, who is Macy? Is she your sister? (I’m sorry, I haven’t been following your blog for long!) she is BEEEAAAAUUUUTIFUL…but then I have a thing for bull breeds / mixes 😉

And you look so cuuute in the bath photos! Also, the ‘crunchy’ thing reminds me of when I was making Raiden a Kong today, and the can of wet food I was using fell over. I was doing it all on top of Kasper’s crate and a big wet blob fell on his head!!! This was torture for him as he loves his food, and now he has a crusty head too 😀

I’m glad Macy didn’t get sick from that tube of ointment! My daddy gives me baths all the time because Mommy’s back won’t let her. But she grooms me afterwards when I’m standing on the counter at her height. They’re a great bath/grooming team! 🙂

  6. Boy, you sure get a lot of baths! My humans say I always smell like dirt and worms. I say, “that’s what doggies are supposed to smell like!” We’re glad Franklin is doing OK.

    • DIRT AND WORMS?!?!?! OMD! Mom would kill me. I used to get a bath once a week to help my itchies. Mom has gotten lazy and now I get them once a month, maybe twice. Franklin said to tell you thanks! *ear licks* Noodle

We are glad you don’t have get the dreaded dental cleaning. Elsa (schnauzer) only has to go once in awhile cuz her teeth don’t get crusty. Me n Andy, though have to go each year. Scottie teeth are just more prone, I guess. Our mouths don’t open very wide, so Mom can’t get in there to clean very well. It is wonderful news about Franklin. We will keep POTP X3 for him, though. Your Peeps really take good care of y’all. Rub a Dub in the tub!!!

What a lovely update. I adored all the pictures. Thank you for the excellent idea of the box spring. Hmmm….may have to “spring” it on my humans. Ha haha! I do hope your Mom is feeling better soon. I think it’s a riot that Macy ate all the tube of nasty and didn’t get sick. I get sick from everything. Especially when I eat the grass but I can’t help myself. (PS – don’t tell ANYONE but Mom wipes my butt after I go. So I feel you on the crunchy business, my friend!) Woof! Love, Maggie

  9. Noodle, sweetness, you are so adorable nekid, I don’t know why you would ever want to wear clothes to cover that beautiful spotted body of yours. <3. My dad has only given me a bath one time that I can remember, and Mom wasn't around to make sure he did it right.
If I only had two legs I would look just like Franklin right now. The doc called in some pain medicine for me, and Mom promised to pick it up on our way to work tomorrow. I hope Frankie keeps getting better.

  13. Well I see you survived your bath complete with all your spots and now are non-crunchy and stinky (at least until Macy slobbers on you again!). Macy was lucky not to get sickies from that antibiotic she ate. My goodness – I’m sure she has plenty of food and doesn’t need to eat THAT! ICKY! We hope Franklin’s right leg will cooperate but at least Franklin has that fabulous walker your Dad made “just in case”.

    Hugs, Sammy

    • Hi Sammy. I’m not positive but I THINK I saw one of my spots go down the drain. I hate to admit that I am in fact crunchy again. Maybe if Macy got the poops she would’ve learned her lesson. My paws are crossed about Franklin. *ear licks* Noodle

  20. Dear Noodle,
Sam here…let me say I hear you brother. Baths are the worst, know you have my sympawthies. I heard Mom say something about one this weekend when we go to the hospital so I’ve got my paws crossed I was just hearing things. That sister of yours is quite the hoot but like most baby sisters, they are totally worth their silliness at the end of the day. ❤

  23. It’s pretty clear you feel the same about baths as does Max. But when you hit the crunchy and stinky level, well, a dog has to do what a dog has to do. Tough it out and take one for the team.
