Friday
Mom and Dad celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary. Without me. Away from the house. Therefore, I have nothing else to say about Friday.
Saturday
Aside from publishing the Bath/Grooming Contest Entries (go check it out and vote if you haven’t already), Mom took me to the flea market. I had a blast seeing everyone.
When we got home, Mom noticed that Franklin was starting to make attempts to walk. Unfortunately, it seemed that Franklin’s little legs couldn’t hold up the weight of her body. I heard Mom call Dad and tell him that she thought Franklin’s muscles might be atrophied from just sitting for the last 2 1/2 weeks.
After a bit of research, Mom found the perfect solution – a duck walker/wheelchair!
That evening Mom and Dad went to buy the supplies. Unfortunately, they were so exhausted when they got home that all the parts sat in bag on the counter.
Sunday
Mom was super anxious to get Franklin’s walker built but Dad had some things to take care of. So while Mom waited, she kept busy with Macy and me.
Annoying little sister fact: Macy likes to drag me around by my collar. Mom thought that if she took my collar off, it would stop Macy.
Annoying little sister fact: It didn’t. She dragged me by my neck.
Naked without my collar.
No amount of redirecting her bad behavior has worked. It may have something to do with Mom’s research. Macy may be a Catahoula mix. A herding dog. Who clearly is trying to herd me…somewhere. She is also very mouthy and has those icy blue eyes – both Catahoula characteristics. Better than a Great Dane, I suppose.
Always chewing on someone or something regardless of how many chew toys she has.
We spent some time outside since the weather was semi-decent: not too hot and not raining.
“Cheeeeeeeese!”
*empty head – no thoughts*
Later in the afternoon, Dad was ready to make Franklin’s walker:
Franklin helped, of course.
And, finally, the moment of truth:
TA-DA!!!!!!!!!!!! She’s mobile again (somewhat)! She’s just getting used to it and it’s going to take some time for her legs to be strong enough to pull her around. Mom will take video to show you.
I’m keeping my paws crossed that she will be walking by this coming weekend.

Noodle honey, I am going to use my counting skills now:
1. I am not even going to begin to try to explain to you why your Mom and Dad wanted to be alone on their anniversary.
2. Yea for you getting to go to the flea market! Mom explained it’s not where you get fleas, so that relieved my mind. Now I want to go, too.
3. Your Dad is super talented and super nice. But did he put a hole under where Franklin’s tail starts so he can do his you-know-what and not make a mess in his walker?
4. Yea for Franklin exercising in his new walker! Has your Mom tried water aerobics with him?
5. Macy. Where do I begin? She chews everything because she is a puppy. She drags you around because she can. Has your Mom tried squirting her with water? Or shaking a soda can with pennies in it? Or hitting her over the head with something heavy? No, Mom, I don’t want to take my paws off the keyboard. Just sayin.

3. Of course, silly! There is no mesh under her tush.
4. Every evening Franklin comes in the house for a swim in a warm bath. Tonight Mom’s adding massage.
5. She enjoyed being squirted with water (dumb dog). Soda can with pennies is a good idea. I, too, suggested a frying pan and got “the eye” from Mom.

Noodle, oh my goodness you guys had a busy weekend. First of all Happy Anniversary to Mom and Dad. I’m glad they had a chance to have some alone time!
I love Franklin’s walker and can’t wait to see the video. What a team your mom and dad are!
Belle pup wanted me to tell you that Bessie pup, (who can still make Belle roll her eyes some days) used to be pretty mouthy when she was younger and when roughhousing would grab Bonnie and Belle’s collars or their fur but she is growing out of that phase, so Belle, who is the wise mother type pup in this house, said to tell you to hang in there Macy will probably grow out of it, maybe not completely since she is a herding pup,but at least she might not be as impulsive and rough.

Oh my gosh! That duck walker is one of the cutest things I have seen in a long time! I had a pet duck, Webster, as a child- one of the best pets I ever had!

Mom spends too much time on Google researching things for Macy and not enough time giving me snuggles! Perhaps if her research wasn’t fruitless, I wouldn’t be upset. OMD, where to begin! Macy…those EARS! We just can’t get enough of them!! Franklin, we just LOVE your walker, what an ingenious plan! As for the photo of you NAAAAKID Noodle, well we’re sure Lexi loved it *wink*.

You are BRILLIANT with the walker for Franklin! Looks like a success – paws crossed he gets used to it and those legs get stronger so he won’t need it any longer. As for Macy insisting on using you as a GREAT BIG CHEW TOY……I hope that stops soon as she may accidentally hurt your little neck and/or collar!!!!!!!

Yup-Old English Sheepdog. She would drag her OES brother around by the neck. He always had this crazed look of ‘help me!’ Puck was quite the bully all told, but a sweetheart under all that fur and Eliot used to let her so it couldn’t have been too terrible. 😉

I will have to speak to my Dad about that! Mom and Dad said thank you very much. Macy like being squirted so Mom is going to try a can with coins in it like Lexi suggested. Remember how I have those NutriVet Calming Bones? Mom could try those but she’s reluctant as I’m sure LadyMum was. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try 1 a day and see if that helps at all.
