Man…everyone has been in such a funk since last week. Mom has been sick with some disgusting combination of strep and bronchitis. You should hear her hacking every night. Khia has been super depressed. Dad is at wits end between the loss of Mya, Khia being sad, and Mom being irritable/sad/sick.

My Grandpa (Mom’s dad) suggested that Mom and Dad take us to the park to try to cheer Khia up. Being that today was the first day Mom felt better than worse, we got to go to the park. Grandpa even took a ride up and went to the park with us!

It was so much fun. Instead of telling you about it, just have a look:

Oh! Khia did the WEIRDEST thing while we were there.

wpid-img_20150328_132526.jpg

She willingly walked into the water. Not once but TWICE! Khia HATES water!!!!! No one could figure it out. The ground wasn’t hot. The air wasn’t even hot. It was actually chilly! It was so very strange and Mom and Dad are still completely stumped by it.

It was good to see my family smiling. I think the park was refreshing for all of us.

Khia and I were super tired when we got home but she was way more tired than me. Just check these beauties out:

Silly girl. I was watching her sleep:

We hope everyone had a nice Saturday.

Mom thinks I need to include some bloopers. Personally I wish these didn’t exist but she says you guys eat them up. So, without further ado:

Typical Khia with her tongue out, acting wonky.

  6. GAH! The pictures were awesome, N., especially the bloopers. Recovery is a slow and difficult process, but a trip to the park with grandpa is a GREAT start. All those smiles popped right out of the computer and made Mom and me smile, too!

  10. Hi Noodle, I’m glad you and your family had what looks like a lovely day in the park. Whenever I am feeling down, I find that a good long walk in the park or along the river with my human helps a lot.

We are glad that you got to enjoy your day in the park. We haven’t gone since the advent of Sophie. She does not listen. Maybe someday.

    • Hmmmm. I don’t really listen either. That’s part of the reason why I’ve never been to a dog park. We only go to the human park and we go to the far side where there are few people.

  14. How wonderful! It looks like all of you had a great time! I learned that you have to really work together with your family to stay out of those funks – or at the very least keep them from being so bad – by doing things like going for a walk or a ride, even if you don’t really feel like it.
