Mom called the vet today around 3:30 to ask about my results. Here’s how the conversation went:

Mom: “Hi, this is Samantha *****. I brought Noodle in last Friday and was told we would have blood work results on Saturday or Monday. Yesterday evening I called to say that I hadn’t received a call and was told that Dr. M would call me back.”

Receptionist: “Oh, I’m sorry about that. Unfortunately, Tuesday (today) is Dr. M’s day off.”

Mom: “Well, can you fax/email the results to me?”

Receptionist: “No, I’m sorry we can’t do that until the doctor reviews them.”

Mom: “Can 1 of the other 6 doctors review them?”

Receptionist: “No, unfortunately not. Noodle is his patient and it would kind of be like stepping on his toes if another doctor got involved.”

Mom is mad….very mad. I am NOT Dr. M’s patient. I am a patient of the office! I have seen all of the doctors because we were never told that each practiced individually.

When I first started going to this office, there were only 2 doctors. Mom says they’re getting too big for their britches.

She said we are only going to see Dr. L and Dr. K from now on because they are the best and would never put her through this. They are both super duper about returning calls and making Mom feel comfortable.

Maybe tomorrow we’ll get answers….

WOW….. Our mom would be HOT under the Collar if that happened to US… No wonder your mom is mad…. EVERY one of the doctors SHOULD be Willing to read and INTERPRET the test results… and make suggestions… We have 4 vets in OUR dogtor’s office and they are ALWAYS happy to see each other’s patients… and to talk to Parents… THAT is just CRAZY…
Is it Pawsible that the pawson who answered the phone is NEW and doesn’t know what is what???
GEE Whiz Noodle this is NOT good. Your mom needs to KNOW that she can take you there and be seen and treated by ALL the dogtors… and CERTAINLY one of them SHOULD have Called her… Grrrrrrr.
Our mom would say that Dogtor needs an Enema… beclaws he is FULL OF IT.

Hope that you get your answers. We have the best vet. She even calls after a routine exam to make sure that we are okay. It took five years to find her and we are happy that she has been our vet for the last 12 years.

Hi Noodly! My Dad says that when the business process takes preference over customer service, it’s time to consider changing vets. He gets really (I mean REALLY) upset with poor service and stupidity! Woof! Ray.

  15. Oooh I’m sorry about that. 😦 That’s just laziness. Sometimes healthcare people forget that on the other end of the blood work is a waiting, worried, human being (and their animal/human loved ones). I can understand the frustration! Keeping my fingers crossed for you and mom! Fuzzy hugs– phoebe and Samantha

Oh my, no wonder your mom is super annoyed, my vet is a one woman band….there is a loco vet who stands in when she is on holiday, and the personal service is 10 /10 she even sent a sympathy card to Mrs P and Beloved when Old Dog passed away, hope today bring you good news, and your moms nerves are not too frayed !!!

Boy Noodle i would be right cheesed off too..we have been super lucky never to have had this happen..we have very good info from all our vets back and forth and there is no such worry about vets helping each others clients out..pets are family and we need the info pronto..otherwise we lose our tiny minds with worries of what ifs….hope all goes well and the results are in soon~! loves Fozziemum xx

  18. Good for your Mom giving them “what for” on passing on test results. Nobody likes to wait for that stuff ESPECIALLY when it’s a human involved so why not when it’s a pet involved?????? Crazy……..I hope your Mom can get those results TODAY.

    Hugs, Sammy

  20. I hope you will get the answers… and I’m sad that they not understand how important it is for you to know the results…. For a vet clinic we are one of their patients for our mom’s we are THE ONE… and therefore this kind of waiting hurts…

We are so sorry your mom is having to play the ‘waiting game”….it is an game that our mom often loses her common sense over and has words with all the opponents….our Frankenvet is pretty good about calling us back and if not we only live 3 blocks away so mom tromps into the office and they quickly hand her the results…..Geeze don’t they understand we are their babies!! stella rose

  22. Sheesh, what is wrong with these people?! Good luck find out the results, Noodle. And have your fur-mom take a deep cleansing breath. She’ll feel better even if that vet and staff are idiots. 😉 On the plus side, no news is good news, right? ❤

  23. rut roooo, we have all part time doctors in our office and they will call back the other doctors clients with results and updates. They will tell them the results and if need be they say they will need to consult with the original doctor to see what their plan is but they get called back right away with the initial results. Hope you got them and all is well.
