Although I try to steer clear of serious business (the world has too much of that), I feel I need to post this as some of my friends on here come with a lot of baggage, like me.

If your pooch does something to upset you, try to remember he/she is just doing there very best. We can’t always be perfect. Much the same as humans aren’t always perfect. When you love someone or something, you don’t give up on them and you do your best not to add to their pain.

About noodle4president

I was a discarded, lost little stray without a house or a family...until my mom found me. Now, I am the happiest, most loved dog in the whole world!

  1. Aww. Such a good reminder. I have to work hard to hold back saying how much I want a doggie (in case Samantha hears, you know). 😉

  2. I agree dogs can’t be perfect… but no matter what they do they can make our life perfect… even with chewed shoes :o)

  3. Pets are important and sometimes we do come with baggage but we try to make up for that by giving our humans TONS of love!

There are so many homeless animals that will be nothing but grateful & full of love if people just give them the opportunity to be! The greatest gift we can give is that of love, patience & a chance ❤

  7. Heck, even non-rescues have (or develop) baggage! Always good to take a deep breath before engaging. Patience is more than a virtue especially with rescues. ❤

Hi Noodly buddy. I like your Post and here’s something I just thought of. Many people, and their kids, have baggage too. While they cannot expect us to behave like them (‘cus we’re dogs!), they can at least acknowledge that we also have stuff to deal with and treat us as equals in that area.

My Dad says he’ll expect perfection from me as soon as he can set the example. He says I don’t have to worry about that happening any time soon! He also knows me well enough now to know what bothers me and what doesn’t so I am very lucky.

He has told so many people that while I have had my challenging times; scared him a couple of times and have had difficult moments, I have fitted into their life so well that he wouldn’t change me for the world. Someone once asked him whether he had any regrets and do you know what he said? He said “Yes! Should’ve adopted a rescued dog years ago!” I’m very proud of myself for making that much of a good impression!

    • I have to say, I agree with everything you said. I have….”negative” qualities that Mom puts up with because she knows that above all else, I’m a lover and the reality is, I’m not a human (thank goodness). Like your dad, Mom knows she’s not perfect and that no one and nothing in life is. She and Dad tell me all the time that they can’t believe they used to live what they thought was a happy, “perfect” life before I came along. Oh! I also got Mom to give us male dogs a chance. Before me, she never owned a boy dog and she swore she never would. She’s still not 100% keen on owning another boy dog in the future (after I’m gone – I’ll make sure of that!) but at least she considers it.
