Weekend Recap: Including My Biggest Adventure Yet!

Howdy, everyone! Happy Monday!!! We all know how much I typically hate Monday because Mom leaves me but today is a very happy Monday because Mom is home from work. It’s MLK, Jr. Day. and her office is closed 🙂

It’s the perfect end to a WONDERFUL weekend! Let’s recap, shall we?

(I apologize in advance for bouncing all over the place but I’m really excited and need to get all of this out!)

SATURDAY

Mom didn’t take me to the flea market on Saturday because it was much too cold for both of us. Instead, we lazed around all morning. It actually warmed up quite nice in the afternoon and we all went outside and laid in the sun for awhile. Unfortunately, around 3:00, things got a bit chaotic because Mya’s sugar crashed. Even with honey, Mom had a hard time getting it back to where it should be. It was frustrating for everyone and poor Mya was disoriented and bumping into furniture. That’s how Mom knew something was wrong. Even though Mya can’t see, she hardly ever bumps into stuff. It’s pretty amazing to watch her go. Once her sugar started getting back to where it should be, we were all spent. It was exhausting watching her and Mom. I just hid my head under the pillow…

    

The day did get better though after I got cuddles from Mom. Mom’s cuddles always make everything better!

SUNDAY

The best day of my life, EVER!

Mom took me to the park but it wasn’t just an ordinary walk at the park like I thought it was going to be. Oh, no. Not at all! When we got there, she had a backpack and a blanket. What was that for???

We walked down a trail through the trees and we came out at a playground. KIDS EVERYWHERE! They all came running for me. Tiny hands all over my body. It was FANTASTIC! That wasn’t even the best part though. We were there to meet with a bunch of Mom’s friends for a potluck/kickball game.

I got to run in a field – on my leash of course!!!

I even got to meet a little baby!!!

Isn’t she beautiful? I love how she stared at me. When her blue eyes met my chocolate brown eyes…well, Mom said it was perfection.

I sat back and watched everything going on around me.

People and kids galore. They all wanted to pet me and love on me. There was also so much food – cruel to bring a dog on a diet to a potluck but I’ll pretend that part didn’t happen. Mom brought carrots for me to snack on AND she got a really cool travel water bottle to make going places easier:

“I’m kind of a big deal!”

The day was PERFECT! Just look at the incredible sky:

  

Mom told me I did great but that I still need work on staying seated when people pet me. I like to show them how excited I am by jumping. I still don’t understand why this is unacceptable behavior. I’m just expressing my joy.

I even made it into the group photo!

That’s me! Front left!!!! I don’t know who took the pictures or else I would ask them to please upload the one of me sitting and looking right at the camera.

After 2 1/2 hours, it was finally time to leave. I was exhausted – this was my longest adventure ever! As soon as I got home, I ate dinner and passed out right in the center of the kitchen. The only reason I got up is because Mya came up to me and licked my head! Can you believe it?!?! She never gives me kisses!

I found Mom and Khia on the couch and it took all of my energy to get up there with them.

Stick legs for days!

I was so tired that I didn’t even care that my head was in a danger zone (Khia’s tush can be lethal)!

So there you have it – my weekend! When were at the park, Mom’s friends announced that they’d be doing it again March 1st. I hope I get to go again!!!
